W.C. 18.5.2020 Welcome Class 1

It is the last week of Term 5, so make sure you try your very hardest to complete all of your work to the best of your ability as you then have a whole week to recharge your brain and bodies ready for the final summer term of work.

I would like to start this week by saying thank you to all the children who have sent pictures of not only their written work but also their maths, Reception, your spider patterns and number work has shown me you are really deepening your understanding. Yr1, I have seen such an improvement in the quality and quantity of your written work, please keep it up: I am so proud of all of you!

It has been yet another busy week of working and walking this week. It seems the weather has not been able to make its mind up which has made for some interesting walks.

The caterpillars are doing well, they are entering their second week in their chrysalides and only wriggle when they feel threatened.

Yr1, by now you should all have received a Power Maths book. Whenever possible use the White Rose Home learning videos and follow the linked worksheets that are on our class tab of the Blockley School website. If you have difficulties connecting to the internet or a lack of screens then the books will provide an alternative. You will find the page links on the time table and under each day’s work on our class page. Some of you may choose to gain extra practice after the White Rose work sheets by using Power Maths, which is fine. Please do not write in the books.

We hope you have a lovely week and remember, try your best.

When we think about generosity we usually think about being generous with money or possessions. However, we can also be generous with our time, our gifts and our abilities.

Thought of the Day

Generous people often say that they receive much more than they give. Perhaps this is because when someone is generous to us, it makes us want to be generous in return. The opposite of being generous is being selfish. What kind of person would you prefer to have as a friend?
