W.C 11.5.2020 Welcome Class One

Hello Class One,

Last week was incredibly busy and we only had four school days! It was lovely to see some of you at the FOS Virtual Disco on Friday you have some awesome dance moves! I made an appearance on Mr Jones Vlog doing the 20 Questions and I got to ask him some questions for a change. I also had a busy day at School on Thursday helping the children there as well as reading all your fantastic work, please keep it coming in!

The weather was beautiful so we made sure we went out for our daily walks early in the morning or later in the afternoon to miss that midday heat which can be very strong. I hope you are all remembering to put your hats and sun tan lotion on, please apply it every couple of hours.

This weeks Friday Dress Up Challenge is to wear either a crazy hat or wear purple. You can make do either of these and use any materials you have in the house. If you would like your photo added to our Friday Dress Up gallery on the Class One page please ask your adult to send a picture with permission to put it on.

Now to focus on our learning. It has been fantastic to see the improvements you are all making in all areas of your learning, you really do make me very proud every week with the changes I can see. I would like to remind you all to send your writing in every week so I can feedback to you.

It is also important to remember to take some time to talk to your family about how you are feeling either about your school work or just in general. I know some of you are starting to miss your friends and the routine that school gives you, remember we are all feeling the same and even the adults have some days where they don’t want to do as much work as other days and that is OK.

Our Caterpillars have changed over the past couple of days and have turned into Chrysalides, I had to move them into their new home ready for the next stage of their development.

Now I asked you two weeks ago to come up with names for the Caterpillars and you did not disappoint me with the variety of names. I have put together a list of the names and will send the link for you to vote shortly.

I hope you have a great week and I look forward to seeing all your pictures of activities and work throughout the week.

Thought of the Day

This term we are thinking about the importance of treating others with respect even if we sometimes do not agree with the way they behave or the things they say. We have also been thinking about how we should treat the things that belong to us and to other people respectfully.
• Think of some practical ways that you show respect to each other in your family.
• Often we show respect to someone by the way we speak to them.  What does this mean in practice?
• Do you treat one another’s possessions with respect? What does this mean in practice?
