Sally Knight – Catering Assistant

Dear Parents/Carers,

Blockley C of E Primary School has a fitted school kitchen where our meals are all freshly cooked on site. Andrea Walker is our Cook in Charge and Sally Knight is the Catering Assistant. They design varied menus and ensure that your child experiences a healthy selection of school lunches.

We have always had a very forward looking approach to lunches here at Blockley as the children are our guests and we feel that they should be given the kind of food that we ourselves enjoy. They will have the freedom of choice, but we will be there to see that they make a healthy choice. On a daily basis your child will be able to order a Main, Vegetarian or Jacket Potato option.

Please find below our Dinner Menu. Currently all KS1 pupils (Reception, Year 1 and Year2) are eligible for Universal Free School Meals. Meals for KS2 pupils (Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6) cost £2.75 per day. If you are in receipt of certain benefits your child in either KS1 or KS2 may be eligible for free school meal status which would allow them to receive free meals and the school to benefit from extra funding to support their learning. All meals must be ordered by 9.30am and the children are asked during morning registration to make their meal choice. We request that meals are paid for via ParentPay.     Many thanks.

Free School Meals

If you are in receipt of certain benefits your child may be entitled to Free School Meals.

For every child that is entitled to free school meals the school receives extra funding to enhance provision and improve progress and outcomes for children. So please apply even if you do not wish to take up your free school meal.

When your application is received, your eligibility will be checked with the Department for Education, Department for Work and Pensions and HM Revenue and Customs. If unsuccessful, children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will still receive universal infant free school meals.
