Blockley C of E Primary School is an Academy with a permitted admission number of 20 and approximately 150 pupils on roll. Pupils begin school in Reception and progress through from Year 1 to Year 6, when they then move onto secondary education. There are therefore 7 year groups within the school.
The school currently has five registration groups, Class 1 through to Class 5. The year groups are split and pupils placed in the appropriate classroom according to their needs. This system enables the pupils to work in a classroom best suited to their learning.

The work covered in all subjects is related to the requirements of the National Curriculum.
Staff plan carefully to ensure continuity and progression across the year groups.
Each class teacher has professional responsibility for the work presented and achieved in his or her class.
Careful records are kept to record children’s progress in all subjects. There are high professional teaching standards within the school and an awareness that all children need to be challenged at an appropriate level in order to maintain optimum progress.
In most subjects children are taught as a class, with follow up activities organised carefully by the teacher to ensure that each child works within a group at his or her own ability and interest level. Appropriate support is given to ensure that each child is positively encouraged to work at his or her maximum ability.
Please see the individual Programmes of Work and Homework timetables for each class for more information.
