St Peter’s and St Paul’s Church, Blockley
The school enjoys close links with Blockley Church, and the Revd Canon Dana Delap regularly visits the school.
We enjoy the church community providing ‘Open the Book’ assembly on Tuesdays. This is where Bible stories are acted out in a way that children can access and understand. These interactive, fun assemblies are thoroughly enjoyed by the children, and staff, and always have a strong Christian theme.

The school regularly holds end of term services in church as well as Harvest, Easter and Christmas celebrations.
The church community provide interactive learning sessions for the pupils based around the Christian calendar. These include ‘Experience Easter’, ‘Experience Pentecost’ and ‘Experience Harvest’ which is held at the local allotments.
A weekly club entitled ‘Bright Sparks’ is run within school at the end of the school day. These relaxed sessions give pupils the opportunity to think about the ‘Big Questions’ in life, with craft, games and fun!
The school and the church work in partnership to celebrate and remember important events.
We gathered for a whole school Collective Worship on Remembrance Day, and placed our poppy petals on a white cloth to remind us that the soldiers who died did so to bring peace.
For the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee our amazing Class Five made a beautiful image of the Queen, after the artist Chuck Close. It was displayed in the church and formed the centre of the Blockley Heritage Society images of the Jubilee celebrations for the archive.
