Spellings
This week I would like you to find dictionary definitions and create sentences for your words. Can you please send a photograph of your sentences to the class email. Keep smiling, Mrs Etheridge.
There is also an activity on Education City for Year 4 and Year 5.
This week Year 4 are continuing their learning on prefixes and Year 5 on suffixes. There is an activity for each year group and you can complete this by either printing off the sheet or writing the words and sentences in the back of your English book. There are also some activities on Education City for you to complete. Well done to those who have done this already. These activities are short and fun and will give your mums, dads and carers 10 minutes to have a quiet cup of tea!! You can play them more than once and the pass rate is 80% so if you don’t get 80% give it another go. I will leave each activity on for 2 weeks so there is plenty of time to give last weeks activity a go to. Keep smiling, Mrs Etheridge.
Year 4
Year 5
As part of our recapping of the spellings from this year I thought it would be a nice idea to use the format we use in class. I have explained the spelling rule at the top and then some examples for you to change/adapt according to the rule. Underneath are some ‘clozed’ sentences (these are sentences with words missing – helping us the develop our vocabulary level and understanding/meanings of words.) You can ask an adult to print out the sheet, or if you do not have a printer at home simply copy the sentences into your English book. Don’t forget there are also some activities on Education City. Keep smiling, Mrs. Etheridge.
